Do you have a money or behavior issue? If your business isn’t taking off the way you hoped it would, it’s time to seriously consider that question. In most cases, the problem is the latter. To prove my point, let me share a story of how I got started in real estate.
I started selling houses in 2003 and was named Rookie of the Year. The money I made was more than I expected and kept doubling year after year. I was on a roll! However, five or six years later, the housing market crashed, and my income took a hit. It was a very frustrating time. I moved to another brokerage, thinking that would fix my problems, but it didn’t. Eventually, my coach confronted me with the truth: I didn’t have a cash flow problem; I had a behavior problem.
When I looked back on what I had been doing those past years, I realized that I wasn’t doing the activities that got me off to a good start. I was inconsistent with my conversations and did not connect with as many people as I could. Once I became relaxed with these tasks, the money stopped.
If this sounds like you, I’m confident you can make as much money as you want in this great industry of ours. If you can resolve your behavior problems by being consistent in the core areas of your business, I guarantee that things will be better for you in 90 days.
